Case studies
MediTrac in Nigerian hospitals.
Two Nigerian hospitals on MediTrac. We describe them rather than name them, and every figure comes from their own records.

CT studies reach ten radiologists, on site and remote, as soon as they are scanned.

Before
The hospital’s old system was only an image viewer. Radiologists had to be in the building to read a scan, reports were typed up on paper, and images travelled between people on flash drives.
Internet comes by satellite, so MediTrac went in on the hospital’s own server, which keeps working when the link drops, with a secure connection out for radiologists outside the hospital.
What changed
Every CT study files itself
Studies flow from the scanner into MediTrac automatically and land under the right patient. No more flash drives.
The scanner fills in the patient
The scanner pulls each patient’s details from MediTrac’s worklist, so names and dates of birth are not retyped at the console.
Radiologists read from anywhere
A secure reading portal lets radiologists outside the hospital open studies through an encrypted connection, with a record of who opened what.
Backed up off site
New studies are backed up, encrypted, to off-site storage, and the records are mirrored to the cloud.
Supported through real problems
- Moved the hospital to a new dedicated server in August 2026, with staff accounts and the scanner connection carried across.
- Traced a network fault to two routers clashing behind the satellite internet link, and fixed the setup.
- When the scanner reused patient and study identifiers, added safeguards so two people’s images are never merged.
Live network · Tertiary hospital, south-west Nigeria
A hospital-wide network first, so every department and the laboratory run on one system.

- Full clinical rollout
A single system is only as good as the network under it. So the first step was the network: we built a fast network that connects the care centres across the hospital, and linked every department and the laboratory to it.
The clinical rollout completes by December 2026. Then up to twelve radiologists report in MediTrac, and the laboratory, imaging and patient records share one record for every patient.
